10 BOTANICALS
No expense is spared in sourcing the finest quality botanicals from around the world including juniper berries from Italy, coriander from Morocco, almonds and lemon peel from Spain, liquorice from China and grains of paradise from West Africa. Each botanical is hand selected by our master distiller to ensure that only the very best ingredients are used to create Bombay Sapphire.
VAPOUR INFUSION
There are only a few Carterhead stills remaining in the world today and four are exclusive to Bombay Sapphire. Unlike other gins, which boil their botanicals directly in the spirit to achieve their taste, the Bombay Sapphire spirit is distilled alone. Based on a1761 recipe, Bombay Sapphire is produced by passing the spirit vapor through the botanicals, which are held separately in a perforated copper basket. This process, known as “vapour infusion”, allows the gentle absorption of each of the aromatic flavours to create the spirit’s complex yet refined finish.
